My Resolutions for 2024

Resolutions 2024

It’s that time of the year again!

We are at the threshold of another new year and time really does fly. The past 12 months have been quite eventful to say the least. The highlight for me of course was the starting of a new chapter with the birth of InCred Money. And as we look to build InCred Money into one of India’s finest investing platforms, I realize it’s only possible when the team and I, individually and collectively, improve ourselves.

So as the new year approaches, so does the ritual of making a resolution. And I’m glad that I have been able to chalk out a plan for myself that’s both challenging and fulfilling, but not unrealistic. This time around, I’ve categorized my resolutions into 3 key buckets: Wisdom, Health, and Wealth. Each holds its own significance in shaping a fulfilling year ahead, and would help in making me a better person and a better leader.

Wisdom Bucket

I used to be a voracious reader until a few years ago. My day used to consist of reading numerous research reports, books on the economy, and a variety of notes on investing. But this habit has waned in the past few years. Lack of time is one major reason. But I realize that’s always going to be the case, and hence I need to find a way to make it work. So, in 2024, I have decided to read at least one book a month. To this effect, I have chosen a set of books, from different domains, from which I plan to pick one up every month. I will also share with you a small review of the books as I finish reading them.

You can check the list of books that I have shortlisted in the link below. And please let me know if you think there’s an interesting book that’s a must read. You can add your recommendations to this list.

Health Bucket

Sports have always been an integral part of my life – not just as a spectator, but even as a player. In my college days, I was an active sportsman and used to play football and run track. Even today, I try to play as much as I can but it’s not very regular. I recently picked up playing squash as a hobby too. I realize I am missing consistency in my approach, and hence in 2024, I commit to playing a sport or do some form of an intense exercise at least 3 times a week.

By the year-end, my target is to complete at least 185 days of active work out.

Wealth Bucket

Considering I’m from the investing industry, I usually feel very comfortable in this domain. I invest as much as I can and I am fairly well diversified in my portfolio. I have my SIPs set up and have taken the required medical and life covers. Of course, it’s not perfect – wealth management is an art, not a science, and there is always scope for improvement. Having said that, I would not look to make major tweaks to my investing strategy.

I plan to just maintain the consistency with maybe a few small changes here and there, and possibly experiment with a couple of new asset classes.

It’s easy to give up on the resolutions. Often, they don’t last beyond a couple of weeks. But this time I have decided to be more dedicated, and I hope I am able to fulfill all my new year resolutions.

If you have kept any resolutions yourself and would like to share them with me, do send me an email. Would be interested in knowing more about it.

I would like to sign off this year by wishing you a remarkable and fulfilling New Year ahead! May 2024 bring abundant joy, growth, and success.

Till the next time,
